Hey, so I’ve had a rough July. Totaled my Veloster into a ditch and decided to get a Prius, then hit a deer and totaled that 3 days later. It was a 2013 Prius 3 and I absolutely loved it for the 3 days. I’m hooked and I’m looking all over for a new one. I found a 2007 listed at $1850. 291k miles. I know they go for a long time, but I’ve seen a lot of them listed around 300k, so I’m a bit scared of it. Logic goes that if it made it to 291k, it was probably maintained decently well throughout. The current owner is a flipper, he claims to know nothing on the history of the car. $1850 is a steal. It’s loaded to the point of leather heated seats, so it’s a better model as well. Any advise is appreciated. Might go check it out tomorrow. It’s also inspected up to 1/20. Thanks!

welcome! leather seats can be aftermarket, don't get caught up in the bells and whistles. understand the costs of a new battery, inverter, a/c compressor, brake actuator, ecvt, and etc., and ask yourself: do i feel lucky? that being said, all those things can go bad at 100k
If the car is in good condition, I don't see an issue. I paid $3800 for a 216k 2008. $1850 seems like a steal to me.
Remember to add a out $2600-$3000 to the price since it will likely need a hybrid battery in the next year or so. Or move away from hybrids and find a lower mileage car.
This is a $5000 car. $1850 gets you the title, the other $3150 gets you through the first two years with it.
Use, intent and finacial status...without knowing those factors, advice is useless. The car old, has a lot of miles and major repairs are expensive. Decide with you head...not your heart.
The guy is a flipper. He got it with a dead battery for 500 bucks and played wack a mole to get it good enough to sell to some sucker. Don’t expect it to run more than 2 months without having to repair/replace the traction battery.
For another $2,000 you can get A LOT more car. I would buy the best car you could possibly afford. If you only have $1800 to spend on a car, then I would get the nicest 95-02 corolla i can find for that price. It will have significantly less mileage.
