Originally a California car, the first owner moved to the Raleigh/Durham area of NC and sold it to me. It's been maintained extremely well, with a thick folder of records on hand. Garage kept most of its life as well. It has a few dings and scrapes, as to be expected from a ten year old car, and the aux port only works if you wedge the plug to the right side of the port. However, the motor doesn't burn any oil, and the original battery seems to be running fine for now. Awaiting new TPMS sensors prior to sale. Going to try my luck at $4800. Will post some pics once it's cleaned up. I used to hate Priuses, but after owning this car I've done a total 180° on my thinking. Even at 180k+ miles, it still gets 50mpg easily and has given me zero major issues while owning it. Alas, my wife wanted a newer and nicer car, and refused my generous offer of a newer Prius. I'll genuinely miss this car, Toyota has great build quality - at least in this model line.
2004 with 251,000 thousand miles. Rebuilt battery still working after 3 years. 49mpg on my last tank. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
interesting. please star a new thread and keep us informed of your experiences. inquiring minds want to know!
Once dorian passes I'm going to be in the market for a 2nd or 3rd gen in the coming weeks hopefully. Probably 2nd since you guys are saying 50mpg is easily obtainable. All the 2gs I've looked at this is one of the cleanest and not too far away.
