just wonder if anybody has had this problem The paint on the driver side rear quarter panel is peeling off the glass We just bought this car used from a dealer and it had a little peeling, but it seems to be peeling more and more Any advice - replace that glass?
This issue has been discussed in another thread. The best advice was to take it your dealer and see if they would cover it (seems like a quality control issue). Others have discussed wrapping them with vinyl, paintng them, or replacing them. They do easily pop off back to front and have something to cut the double-sided tape. Do you have a Gen 4 Prius? Or the Prius V that is on your profile?
i replaced the plastic glass I found a used one on eBay it pulls out and the corners are held in by sticky tape (otherwise, the corners bend out)
2016 - 2018 Toyota Prius OEM Rear Quarter Panel Molding RH #62505-47010 - Used | eBay not sure which side you need all 2016 - 2019 should be the same ones
This looks exactly like my 2016 Prius. I was a bit taken aback that it had so much flaking in 4 short years!
I bought a brand new pair for my 2016 Prius 4 from a seller in Japan on eBay. Toyota factory parts in original wrapping. Local Toyota dealer quoted me over $280 for the pair and I bought these for $128 with free shipping for the pair. Fit perfectly and look great. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334880381273
I have the same problem on my 2016 Prius 4 (I live in Switzerland). Interestingly, only the right side is affected. This is the "sunny" side of the car while parked (it's always in the same spot), so maybe the damage is partly caused by UV light? However, it does not bother me and I will not replace it.
