It looks like they're selling the whole component. There's some language about cleaning with sterile water, and some caution about scuffs and wear. It doesn't look like they're taking requests on color schemes.

Glad I found this thread. I have a ct200h. All the interior leds are green minus the cluster which is a nice white color.

Figured might as well start changing LEDS.

    Started with the HVAC panel:

    Desoldered LEDS:

This one I'm using different LEDS but I went through about 40 different 1206's before finding two that I am going to be testing this weekend. At first it was very difficult for me to remove the 1206 leds. Then I got the bright idea to use two soldering irons. I was about to drop $1000 on hot tweezers but figured unless I'm doing a lot of these to make up the cost of the equipment, it was a bit overkill.

Now I can desolder the LEDS off the board in about a minute or two. My first HVAC panel took me hours..lol Now, that I've done about 5 of them (all my test pieces) I'm down to about 10 minutes.

White: Note these are 3528 LEDS that I scavened from a Lexus NX climate control panel... but to pay $60 for 12 leds was a bit much. ( I wanted the typical lexus white color prior to me finding an exact match with the 1206 led)

Makes it brighter than what it really is:

I'll get pictures of the other pieces I'm doing. Everything inside will be a nice white color. Not blinding at night. My phone camera can't capture it so it's very tough to judge from photos. When I had the above test panel and 12 different SMD leds, your nake eye could clearly see a difference with brightness/hue/color temp, but when I would take a picture they all looked the same..lol

This is a great thread! We don't have a lot of modding for some reason over at the CT group. So it's refreshing to see so many people modding stuff here :)

I was dragging my feet with my Navi... Ended up doing it and on both board I did something slightly different from the all green..

First test board I did red knobs. Then the second one I did white everything minus the red cd indicator light up top. I decided to take that red LED off and put a white and now sure enough neither board lights up. I'm so pissed.... This has happened to two other people on the CT group and no one knows why the illumination stops. I made 10000% not to burn anything or fry anything. I even can test each individual led and they light up on the board. But when I turn the lights on, they don't illuminate.. I can only guess the green leds were such a low voltage that my white ones which require 3.4v at 10mA is too much? I don't have a clue.

Anyways this is what it USED to look like.. Had I know this would have stopped working I would have kept it as the red cd indicator light at the very top.

So now I have to figure out a way on getting my navi unit to illuminate at night cause I'm not spending $2k+ for a new navi..

I love modding but stuff like this is annoying when things end up not working...

I do thnk something happen via a surge when I was doing stuff on the car becaues magically my headlights went out as well. Come to find out my passenger side HID relay harness went bad, my driver side had a loose connection but just seems super strange it all happened at the same time. Prior to this at 1:30am on Saturday I was breathing easy with excitement on the navi color swap/change!

I think a way around this possible is getting 28gauge hook up wire an running leds right above the stock oes on the board and then just powering them seperately from another 12v source that has resistors inline.... It's the only way short of find a new board which I don't even think would fix it, since both of my boards don't illuminate...

OR I completely desolder the leds there, run a piece of blue tape and then simply solder the new leds with wire in the exact spot then there would be no issues with placement and just tack them down every so with a drop of super glue... but still have the wiring to something else....
