Thank you all for all the detailed information and entertaining banter. I recently purchased my first Prius. It is a 2019 AWD-E XLE. What do you all think? Did I do okay? Is the general consensus that the newer Prii are just as reliable as the old ones?

That's a nice looking car! The mid-cycle styling refresh definitely cleaned up the front end, and the back end as well.

The newer Prii are as reliable, if not more so, than the older models. Each generation they fix some of the older problems. This isn't to say they won't introduce a new problem, but in general they get more reliable with each generation, along with higher fuel economy.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words! I averaged 63mpg on the 10 mile commute to work this morning. I am thoroughly impressed!

Yes, seem to be. Plus they've got much longer warranties than the old ones.

You will likely find that the displayed mpg on the dash is higher than actual by about 5-7 percent. When you fill up and do the math of gallons and miles you will likely get a lower number than you see on the dash. That’s still very good mileage, but be aware of this potential difference.

You will find that the Prius gets quite good mileage in hills.

There are mountains in east TN along the NC border and snow as well.

Just bought mine as well, picked it up for $26,500 (cause I use to sell for toyota and know all the tricks lol) Averaging 64.5mpg so far on my 69-ish commute each way to different work sites.

No trick really, I punch it to 75 when merging on the highway, I Cruise control with 1 bar at 72mph and put my podcasts on and enjoy the ride into boston. Once i hit stop and go traffic i turn on EV mode for under 20 MPH, granted i only have 900 miles on it right now, so I don't know all the tips and tricks just yet
