Hey there ....so I would love to get black wheels on my blue Prime and found these for sale......they are from a stock Prius 3 (2018 I think) and they normally have silver inserts in the triangular sections....do you think they look lame without the inserts?? Last pic is how they look with inserts.......thanks in advance for your thoughts....

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

If you like them, that's all that matters.

    Make sure they're 5x100 & ~ET40 (ET 35 to 45 works).

Fine by me. I was gonna put those on (and use the stock for winter tires) but I ended up getting steelies for the winters.

From the perspective of an import/tuner guy, I would argue dark gold or bronze are better colors with blue. However, that might be the influence of all the modded WRX STis I see in World Rally Blue.

The black looks okay, but I wouldn't say it really has a lot of impact. Don't you get a little MPG bump with the inserts?

Very utilitarian looking, doubly so with the exposed lugs. I would keep the silver plastic pieces in. Maybe just my taste though.

If he has a silver car, he can buy the one blue insert per wheel and leave the rest silver.

Expensive plastic though, with 5 per wheel, and $25.85 per (at McGeorge Toyota): $517.

If you like it, go for it. That said.

Wow! Just sell them on eBay. You may recoup the cost of entire wheels you purchased.

I would just hang onto them. Change your mind, trading in or whatever, you'd regret selling those.

Hang on, @Mark Hoppe : the rims for sale don't have the plastic inserts?

Agree.... beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    Insert replacement cost is outrageous.
FWIW the insert holes on the rim...perhaps plug those holes with inexpensive plastic plugs in black or even in chrome.

He said his Prime was blue:

The blue-back-white doesn't look too bad IMO, but it's not something that would make a lot of people look and think "that's pretty cool"

Looks good! I like the contrast to the white.

I took my out because they started squeeking. I think it looks great without them. The little holes are a little weird but whatever. All black looks great!
