Hi hi. Bought my 2013 Prius C four in early April and almost immediately noticed a starting issue. The car doesn't start maybe one out of twenty times I get behind the wheel. I have been getting the run around by both the dealership where I bought it (a Hyundai dealership...I know, I know) and the Toyota dealership where it's being seen right now. I was previously told that the starting issue was due to an after market back up camera installation that crossed some wires, and now I'm being told something completely different. I don't know what any of this really means. Seeking any advice!
how many miles on her? if by 'doesn't start' you mean it can't make ready, it is either a faulty brake switch, or a 12v problem. if it is a wiring issue from the camera, you need to chase that down. i would tell him no, for now. prius plugs usually look almost new at 100k. every dealer tells their customers the water pump is leaking. funny how the aftermarket warranties never cover anything
She's only got 71k on her. I'll decline the work he suggested and hopefully he'll continue to do the work I asked for. Yesterday, one of the mechanics asked me if I needed him to show me how to start my car. I was so livid I couldn't believe it! Thank you thank you.
Tell him to get your car back together and roll it outside, and get it away from that guy as fast as possible. I don't think those are pictures of parts from your car.
And I'm pretty sure NGK doesn't make a plug that fits the 2013 Prius c. The car was (probably) born with Denso IK16TTs, not NGK IFR6A.
I hope you got your car out of there! They are not mechanics they are thieves, those pictures are not from a Prius. Your starting issue must be a bad 12v battery. BTW, Prius spark plugs last more than 100,000mi.
