Has anyone been able to find just the accumulator for the ABS brake/actuator assembly? I’ve found them for some other models like the 4Runner & Landcruiser, but not the Prius. I have mine on it’s way out at some point. No codes or lights, just lots of pump cycles without braking. I’ve bleed the system with Techstream & it’s a little better but who knows how long. I’d like to replace just the accumulator instead of buying a junkyard part & hoping it’s better than what I have now. Thanks!
I got one from a salvage yard. Worked fine. Toyota will tell you that your car requires a specific part number. I found that not to be the case . I have an 08 and replaced it with one from an 09 and it had a different part number. Cost me about $250.. If you can find one in a yard or pick and pull you may be able to easily get the one out of the donor car.. many times the engine and other stuff is missing already. Took me 5 hrs to replace it.. then some more time to bleed it. There are some videos on YouTube showing the basics... On how it comes out. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
You can buy a rebuilt Dorman one with a lifetime warranty for around 800 bucks. I didn’t know they had hybrid 4 runners and land cruisers? The reason I think they sell is as a full unit is you have no backup like you do with a non hybrid.
