I’ve finally started seeing Gen IV’s in the last 6 months I note when I see one, but don’t much keep track we seem to have mostly Gen I’s and II’s Gen III’s , V’s and Gen IVs are always a surprise I rarely see more than 1 a day driving on the road but sometimes will see 2 or 3 Gen II’s when I’m stopped at a mega store in the lot.
That isn't odd when & where they are scarce. Around here, we passed beyond that a decade ago. For scarce Prii, try Oslo. I saw only a few of them hiding among the vast swarms of Teslas.
I drove a 400 mile round trip to Manchester yesterday, and perplexingly, I didn’t see a single G1 or G2 Prius on any of the motorways. I saw quite a few G4 and only 2 Gen 3’s. Not a single Gen 2..... However, there’s hundreds of them Gen 2 still quietly scurrying about on London roads. Those silent hybrid ninjas just won’t die iPhone 6s +
I thought everyone was stealing the catalytic converters off them in London. LoL. Sorry, couldn’t resist.
True! But reliable replacement non-OEM catalytic converters are available for as little as £150. The annual road tax is £10 on these Gen 2 Prii in London, where an ordinary car of the same vintage will cost you around £250 annually - and it’ll guzzle at least twice the fuel. Our rodent of a mayor who woefully failed to protect a single Prius in London has introduced a new much more widened emissions zone in London. It’s £12.50 a day to drive through it if your old car doesn’t meet the restrictions. The Gen 2 DOES meet those restriction requirements and is therefore a highly valuable vehicle for getting around those ULEZ restrictions in London Even the Gen 4 Hybrid now attracts £140 per year tax, but the older Gen 2 is still £10....!!! Crazy, I know, but that’s one reason why they’re highly valued! iPhone 6s +
