Well, now that I've burned out my Entune rant I need some ideas for an iphone mount on the 2018 Advanced Prime.

I don't have a qi phone, and had been dropping my phone into the qi charging spot with a USB cable attached. But Entune is so crappy that I need to phone up where I can actually see apps like waze.

There are a lot of ideas for mounts on PriusChat for older Prii or cars with the 7.5" display. But I'm not seeing a lot of good ideas for the tiny space left for possible mounting options, particularly with a charge cord.

I got a mount from ProClip, works really well, extremely secure and it fits my phone perfectly. A bit on the pricy side, but well worth it in my mind for the quality. You buy the mount and then the holder for the phone for the best fit.

I haven't been here long enough to post links but you should be able to google proclipusa and find it.

I route the charging cable for my phone from the rear passenger compartment port under the side of the passenger seat (along the center console) to the mount with a 2 meter charging cable. It is plenty long with out any issues of being accidentally disconnected while driving.

Agree about the ProClip. That what I use, works perfectly.

I recently tried out this and it's decent - Macally Windshield Phone Mount, Adjustable Suction Cup

Bounces around a little but that's expected from a long arm, I kind of bent the arm so it rests near the HV EV buttons to the right of the shifter. Its suctioned to the tray area where some cars have the wireless charger.

I also went down a rabbit hole of trying to get CarPlay on our cars without much success besides some shady looks options.

I am using this magnetic mount and its pretty good. I will try to upload a photo where I installed it. I had it on the left side of steering wheel right above the AC vent.

I also use the magnetic mount attached to the screen, it's perfect because it's right next to the screen so if I get pulled over, I just tell them I was adjusting my climate control, perfect for my waze.

    Magnetic mount, stick on
Got a version of this when it was on sale for $5
Yes phone blocks hazard button, but seldom used.

Kenu Airframe Pro. I have used this in other cars, very well made, gently but very firmly grips air vent with non damaging rubber grip. Way better than others I’ve tried, and with iPhone XS nothing is blocked and phone is in line of sight. No need to add anything to phone. F1A00005-CDA0-48FE-9DFC-ABB3ACAD1035.jpeg

How did you get that to stick in the vent?

I also just picked up the KENU airframe pro and it's fantastic! The location is perfect with it being on the vent (cooling) and is within sight for optimum viewing without obstructing any of the main screen or other buttons. I did however add a piece of foam as you can see in the one photo attached which makes the mount nice and solid.

Good news for vent-clip car mounts: They help keep your phone cool in the summer.

Bad news for vent-clip car mounts: They heat up your phone in the winter.

Though you can change the vent settings so that it doesn't use those vents to avoid the winter problem.

I've been using vent clips for a few years now. Never once had an issue with them being overheated. The key is airflow. I can tell you however i've had phones overheat placed on the dash and also sitting in the Q wireless charger.

This is where I mounted mine. No issues with vent clips and it is close enough that I can cool my phone if I want to with the AC in the summer and avoid it heating up in the winter by redirecting the vent.

Sorry, I don't have this particular model myself. I just saw the information on the web page.

I’ve replaced my little spring loaded mount with a Qi wireless charging mount. Pretty neat. It opens and closes electronically. The suction cup mount has the gel that sticks very strongly to the textured surface. The USB cable is routed and hidden under the steering column coming by the fuse box and reaches the center console where I have a 12V to USB converter hidden.

    iPhone ?
