I recently bought a 2017 Prime Advanced used with 25K miles already on it. It came with Sirius XM already activated. I don't know for how long the subscription will be. I have read that the Safety Connect subscription requires XM Satellite for some features. I am still on the 3-year Safety Connect free trial since it is a 2017 car, and it is good until 2021. One of my windows has a small sticker that says Sirius XM ALL ACCESS. I don't know what that means, but I can hear all the satellite channels and I am not paying a monthly fee for them. Now, is there a way to access those channels online? I don't have a user name and password for Sirius XM. Will the satellite radio work for as long as Safety Connect is active?
After a quick moment of thinking, I answered my own questions. I went to the Sirius XM website, signed up for an account and in the beginning, it asked me if I had a car subscription, so I just clicked yes, and it asked me for an ID number which I got from the car by tuning to channel 0. Then it asked me to enter all my personal info to create an account. So now that I have an account, I am able to see I have a 3-month complementary plan which ends in September, so that is actually 4 months. With that account I am also able to login to the website and the app and listen online. Really cool stuff since the main reason I would keep the satellite radio subscription is for Howard. Some times I prefer to listen to interviews on-demand rather than live.
XM is evil. Pray you never need to discontinue it. Safety Connect does not use XM. It’s a cellular connection all it’s own.
I think they’ll be glad to cut it off when the trial is over. They don’t have my credit card number. LOL iPhone ?
Yes. That’s what I was told. Will be blocking their emails, send them automatically to spam and block their calls. iPhone ?
Yes, they are persistent. My wife passed away 5 years ago and she still gets mailings, even after I moved.
If/when you want to renew the subscription, wait a few months and they'll give you a much better deal on the renewal. $10 US a month is typically the bargain rate.
I have a lifetime subscription with SiriusXM. I bought it 13 years ago for $360. XM was hurting for subscribers and I took a chance. They no longer offer a lifetime subscription but I can transfer it to any car an unlimited number of times. have to pay a $75 transfer fee.
i get an email from them every week, asking me to come back, or at least sign up for their newsletter so they can keep me informed of all the wonderful content they're delivering
I opted out of email/phone. Now I get a snail mail mailing 6x per year. At least that costs them some $$.
Yeah, they pester a lot. I let mine expired after the promotion period almost two years ago, but still get some junk mails. I too have blocked phone and e-mail from them. I don't listen to radio much, but when I was switching the audio source on the dash other day, it ended on the satellite radio. It seems even without an active subscription, they do provide some free contents. Do anyone have list of what channels are available free without subscription?
