First, welcome to Prius Chat ! As far as body side molding goes, I kinda like the Giraffe with the hat, it's a bold move that will set you apart from the regular Prius Prime crowd. Rob43
Huh? I spent a solid hour writing up how I applied the side moldings which was infinitely easier than the dealer instructions but cannot seem to get the imgur album to upload correctly. I will try to get this working...
Okay, I apologize for the wonkiness of screenshots of an album. If someone knows a better way let me know. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Good work... Now, my inquiring mind would like to know where you obtained the side moldings. Any protection from other car doors is better than no protection. Especially in some store parking lots.
Yes, called several dealerships in my area, most were $240, but I did find one that was $98 for install. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The side moldings are oem from Toyota, I purchased mine online from Roseville Toyota. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
great work. but i have a mean question... do you think the molding will actually be in the right place for other doors to hit ?? i was thinking about getting the molding, but i hesitated as i decided it was really just decorative, as most doors will strike above the molding and damage our sheet metal anyway ??? anyone else come to this conclusion?
I cannot say for sure with every vehicle, different ride heights and all that, but I've tested a couple cars (opening softly of course) and the doors all hit the side moldings. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Hey are those the stock rims? Looking very sharp. Did you have to fit center caps and bolt caps? If so where did you get them?
Yes thank you, they are the stock rims, with center caps from the dealer but they are also available on Amazon. I paid about $80. They just pop in, and feel very secure. Part number 42603-52170. Genuine Toyota Prius Center Wheel Caps 42603-52170. Set of 4. 2016-2017 Prius. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
