Is it possible to replace just the cracked front clear lens cover, or is it really necessary to replace the entire assembly? It appears the clear cover is a separate piece which has been mated in place to the remainder of the assembly.
I just patched mine with clear RTV. A bit ugly, but it works OK. It only had a rather small hole in it, no large cracks.
It's possible, but the assembly's are so inexpensive that you wouldn't save much, if any, money. I have a new aftermarket pair that I'd sell for $25 plus shipping, for example.
