I just got this Prius, I have owned 3 previously, and can't figure out how to stop the horn from honking when I lock and unlock the doors. It's annoying my wife and disturbing our grand kids when it happens and they are sleeping. Anyone know how to accomplish this, if it's even possible without a trip to the dealer?
The horn honks by default. This can be changed with the Carista app and OBD interface. One of the first things I changed.
Mine gives 2 soft beeps for unlock, 1 for lock. Barely noticeable. It sounds like someone has installed an alarm - incorrectly - as someone else has noted.

My 2016 UK Gen 4 doesn't honk the horn on lock/unlock all you hear is the clunk of the lock servos. I does flash the indicators. I though chirruping/honking lock unlock went out in the 90s when remote central locking was new.
My 2016 Prius 4 did this very briefly yesterday for the first time in 3 years. No idea why but not done it again. I assume some inadvertent change of settings by me. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Kithmo, thank you. I do understand the thought others have had that an after market alarm was installed but I know that to be impossible. My mother-in-law is the only owner prior to me, we buy out her lease when through, and she never adds anything to the car. I am desperately trying to figure out how to get mine to do what yours does, flash the lights and that's it, by any chance have you adjusted any of the various settings which could account for yours working in the current millennium as opposed to mine which seems to have utilized a flux capacitor for a trip into the 90's? (well it was funny in my head)
On mine (UK) there is an option to turn off the indicator flash on lock/unlock via the nav system car setup menus but no horn option so it's probably a totally different set up. It might be worth exploring your nav system menus for something similar. Nothing for horn mentioned in the UK manual either, even under dealer customisation.
