I bought a used 2016 Prius and have been unable to get the navigation to work. It won't let me finish a street address - pulls up "Sand Hill" but not "Sand Hill Road SE" and it will not let me enter more than 2 digits in the house number - for example I want to go to 6523 Sand Hill Road SE" but all I'm able to enter is 65 Sand Hill and then the city. I have gotten lost trying to find a friend's new home in an unfamiliar city. Do I need to update it? I really love it when I try it and it actually tells me how to get there correctly, but this just doesn't work. I hate to have this new -fangled car navigation system and have it be useless....
One address that cannot be located should not condemn the entire NAV. Granted, if that address is important to you, it seems like the NAV is useless. In those cases, I would simply use another nav method, Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc. to get you to your destination. In fact, I entered "6523 Sand Hill Road SE" into Apple Maps, and it gave me a location outside Elizabeth, IN. Armed with this information, I attempted to enter this into my 2016 Three Touring NAV Destination. At first, all I could do was enter "65 Sand Hill" as you described. But then I went back to the previous step and changed the State/Province to Indiana and it gladly took the entire address.
Thanks to both of you! It isn't just the one address where I was unable to put in the whole address - the Sand Hill address. That was just one example. I have been unable to enter the entire address several times - even when I'm sure I'm in the correct state. I'll take a picture and post it - it is very frustrating. I'd prefer not to have to rely on google maps on my phone to get me where I need to be, but it may be that is what I need to do. If it only happened once, that would be one thing. Try entering 4852 Sand Hill Road SE in Iowa City Iowa and see if it works?
Apple Maps will only find "Sand Hill Ct NE" in Iowa City, so I would not expect the Prius Nav to find anything else.
