Hilarious experience taking my 2016 Prius 4 Touring with TSS-P through a carwash for the first time where you have to put the car in neutral and it drags the car through the brushes. The proximity sensors were on red alert, glad the automatic collision avoidance apparently don't kick in when the car is in neutral.. How do others deal with this? Just disable the sensors every time you go to a carwash? Just enjoy the light show?
It's not just the Prius. My Infiniti is the same. Even pedestrians strolling too close to the stopped car will trigger beeps and lights. The "work around" for me is no automatic car washes. Hand wash only. It's getting so bad even wet snow will cause problems tripping sensors on the road.
I'm intrigued - I've never seen snow - apart from about 20km away on top of Mt Kosciusko - but I imagined it was always wet?? Can you get dry snow?
I think there’s a TSA bulletin about this issue. Bring your Toyota into a dealer and they will reprogram the sensors. It’s not just car wash that sets off the sensors. Sometimes pulling out of a parallel parking spot the IPA goes so crazy with beeps and horns I turn it off use my actual hands on the steering wheel. Embarrassing!
Thunderstorms expected in the Bay Area today. Yeah, Ill believe that when I see it. 8 million people in this Northern California region actually create a heat island, pushing storms around the terrain and change the local weather. Off topic. Sorry for the rant!
If it is extremely cold the snow can be quite powdery. A little warmer and it can pack together so you can make a snowman. A little warmer still and it can form a slick film of water as it melts.
That'd really make a statement - a snowman in my front yard. Wouldn't last long though - maybe there is fake snow I could use. I always loved CALVIN's snowmen.
