The bulbs keep twitching back and forth, and I'm guessing they are bad? I'm looking to see if you guys can tell me which bulbs these are? I've circled it on the picture
I looked them up, they look like regular bulbs? The one my Prius has it's like an led one? Like the "new " looking bulbs
161, 168, 194, 2825. Many different numbers look the same, the wattage draw(and perceived brightness) is where the difference lies. I put Sylvania 168 LED bulbs in mine. We had a changeover from single bulb in a pack of LED to two per pack at my work. The single bulb packages needed to be “disposed of”, so I did that. LoL
Hmm, I just took it out and I can't see any numbers or anything on it. He's a picture, I don't have the Manuel because I'm not the original owner and it didn't come with it I looked up the Sylvania 168 LED mentioned and those look more similar, but still not the same. Are they just knock offs? Thanks in advanced!
Confusing because the previous owner evidently replaced the original bulbs with these "twitchng" LEDs.
Somebody put in an aftermarket LED from one of those packages that say "for off-road use only". The original is the 5 watt wedge base linked in #3. They last about forever (I've only just lately replaced two in my 2010), so if the LED one only lasted this long, that's kinda sad. There are lots of similar-looking bulbs but, as cnc points out, they're hard to tell apart by looking for marks and they're not all 5 watts (many common ones are less, for use in instrument panels and such). Since Toyota's price is reasonable, just giving them that part number is an easy way to get the right thing.

They aren't even proper knock-offs, but just low-grade LEDs. Standard bulbs of the proper designation (size, base, and brightness) from a non-dealer source should be fine.
On the other hand, the non-dealer 2 pack for $10 suggested in #2 is a higher price than the dealer list price (which, in turn, is often higher than a dealer's discounted price). I'm sure you can find a good deal comparison shopping (and making sure to check the wattage) ... but if you value your time at, say, minimum wage, then even five minutes spent comparison shopping will eat up a lot of the possible savings.
Bought those before in a Prius led swap kit, utter crap. Either twitched or died and brown out within months. There’s just no proper heat dissipation foundation. Id just go back halogen side markers in your shoes.
Please excuse my ignorance , are those the side indicators? Im guessing they are, as the international models also don’t have the wing mirror indicators.
Are there OEM Toyota LED replacements? I haven't heard of that. I've also bought some of these W5W LEDs off of aliexpress for my numberplatelight. One developed an intermittent dropout and I didn't like the cold white look of them so I've stuck the orignals back in again.
To what advantage? The OEM incandescents are cheap, seem to outlast these LEDs, and have the specified light output pattern so their packages don't have to say "for off-road use only", and they're all of 5 watts to start with, so how much would you be hoping to save relative to the overall power budget of the car?
Exactly my idea. Some seem to be off the opinion that the colder white light of LEDs looks good. I don't. And as you say, the power difference is low and when they are crap it does not seem to be worthwhile.
"colder white light" = "with stronger blue components". And then put it behind an amber lens that works by taking the blue out?
