I've been lurking for several months, contemplating replacing my beloved 1994 Camry (that just hit 200K miles!) with either a Prius or an 07 Camry. While I'm sure another Camry would have been very nice, I am getting a big feeling of satisfaction already, without even having my Prius yet! So thanks to all of you for that, and for the very helpful advice. We've been on a wait list for about a month and I was starting to wonder if we were going to get anything before the 9/30 deadline, so on a long shot this morning I sent out a BUNCH of emails all over N. CA and actually got 2 responses from dealerships that had cars available either right now or next week. No deposit needed and no wait list. (Both the available cars were Silver #6). We'll be picking her up next Tuesday or Wednesday in Daly City!!! The guys at Elk Grove Toyota (near Sacramento) were the other dealership and they seemed really great - but farther than Daly City. So if you are still looking or wait listed elsewhere, check them out. They also had a red #8 in stock. Looking forward to learning all the tricks of the trade!
Congratulations! It really DOES pay to email/call any dealer in an area you're willing to travel to. I was car shopping in April after my old car was totalled, and I thought that there was no way I could get a Prius quickly, but I located 3 of them available 'immediately' within 8 days. I love my Prius, and I'm sure you'll love yours, too - have tons of fun with it!

Welcome, I managed to get my white #6 from Stevens Creek Toyota in under two weeks with a little insistance. You'll be amazed at how many Prius' you'll be driving amongst here in the bay area. cheers ss
Yeah, as i've often said in the forum... Bay Area == Prii Mecca... We're not special around this area (I drove to Las Vegas and didn't see a single one during a 1 week drive around) Therefore the mod's i've done (see below)
I know...I can't believe how many I see driving around here. Just on the 35 min drive to work today I saw 8! And there are 2 that live on our street.

Actually after seeing so many Prii around i haven't seen any that take off the Hub Rings. And I've only seen 1 with tinted windows. I'm different Yippee! heh, i hate being in the crowd... oh, and when i pulled up to 2 other Prii at a stop light i turned up my amps and went boOm BoOm. Sure as hell caught they're attention.
