I shorted out the headlight function of my 2006 Prius body control module. It was stupid. The markers work, blinkers, etc. So I wired in a manual switch to turn the headlights and high beams. I would like to replace the body control module, but I hear it requires programming by a Toyota service dept.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Tony

I've never heard that the body ECU requires any special programming. Maybe check the Repair Manual (more info)?

I had someone else I trust say the same. I guess I'll buy one and see one happens. Thanks for replying.

So- even with most funtions - I still have no Radio/Dome/Smart key -
I have MFD function minus the Radio/Clock.

Think BCM can be the culprit?

I changed theinteriror fuse block - same functionality.
