Side by side next to the old one I gutted for the chip. The positioning of the actual key chip took a little probing to get it on the right position. But all is well. The buttons work and the keyless function all works. All I have to do is get the little key cut to my original key.
Some side profiles of the new Sleek looks. I haven't had time to drive my vehicle yet . As I am still recovering. so guess the gas to win a Red Bullet contest would have to wait a little bit. But for the meantime enjoy!
Some chinese guy I found online. Its a bit bigger in size but hey it looks pretty nice. I'm wondering how long it will last being shiny. Was thinking about helping him export. Let me know what you think. I'm saying there is a tone of stuff here to export. If only I had the time to fly over to China. It was 15-18 bucks a pop. Made an order for 2. They offered key cutting service just need to send photo of the original key. But the seller don't have 2 button variant which didn't matter to me so I'm getting 3 button FOB haha. Thanks for sharing Hopefully next week the ride is ready.
Someone hereabouts posted an amazon link back at the beginning of February. I got one (just in case), and for $10 couldn't resist, but I notice the logo on the back is not in silver, so I wonder if it will behave as either of the two fobs which came with my 2009 Gen II? (…I seem to remember reading something about needing the silver/chrome logo on the fob in order to allow the car to start when the fob is plugged into the slot in the dash?)
Will this fit a Gen 2 chip? The original case I have has started to fall apart. Something to do with having mildly acidic blood like them critters in the Alien Quadrology . Can I purchase these from the UK without being taxed to death for importing one or two of these? And crucially, will this fit in the slot in “The Spaceship”.....as my vehicle doesn’t have the fancy keyless entry and start - for which I’m now grateful. Feral 21st century thieves (straight out of Judge Dredd) have been successfully heisting cars off driveways in the middle of the night by exploiting the keyless entry technology with hardware easily available off Amazon .
