A moonroof is glass (aka glass sunroof) so you can see the moon. A sunroof can specifically mean the same as a moonroof but it’s sheetmetal rather than glass (so you have to slide it open if you want the sun to shine in.... hence sunroof)
Thanks. Sunroof or moonroof was never on my wish list for my car. I have never owned a car with sunroof or moonroof until my recent purchase of Pathfinder. I think they called it moonroof, but did not know why. Now I know. BTW, we have not opened the moonroof on our Pathfinder yet. I just looked up how to operate it on the manual, this almost 2 month after the purchase.
The Prius PHV (as the prime is known in Japan) has a moonroof option, but it's nothing really special (not like a panoramic glass roof).
