Great news for me as I love our current Prime, don't need or want a fifth seat, and don't give a rat's patootie about Carplay. Hey, no temptation to upgrade!
In Japan, Blueprint will be available (same colour as the new RAV4 blue) on the Prime. Supersonic Red replaces Hypersonic Red. Other colours remain.
Where do you read that it still has white? I've seen a few reviews and they all mention that the white porcelain has been replaced with black.
Maybe he means Moonstone? Moonstone is now light grey/white, rather than black/white. But you're right. If you have the black interior, all the trim pieces are black (steering wheel buttons, steering wheel bottom spoke accent, shifter surround, cupholder/wireless charging trim)
Well, I am glad to see Apple Carplay is now included. It was not a deal breaker for me, but even the salesperson at Toyota complained during a test ride that Toyota was behind the curve on that issue. Now that they have it I feel better. I should be shopping for a Prime Limited or whatever they end up calling their fully loaded model, in about 2-3 months. I really wish they had some better color options but Gray with black will likely be my choice.
Just rented a 2019 Camry and Toyota unfortunately really cripples Carplay compared to Hyundai, Kia and some other manufacturers. For "safety", Toyota refuses to let you scroll through your artists or album music list while driving - even if a passenger is in the car doing the work. You can't type a new destination into Waze or Google Maps while driving, and there are many other limitations. Also appeared to have some bugs. For example, in a Hyundai Sonata, I can listen to iHeartRadio and let my phone go to lock mode. But in the Toyota Camry, iHeartRadio stops playing music the instant the phone locks. In addition, the USB cable would randomly disconnect and carplay would just quit. Here's hoping they make major improvements to Toyota's Carplay implementation before it hits the Prius Prime, because in its current iteration Entune is actually better.
