on Toyota.com, it lists illuminated door sills as an accessory (same one as the regular Gen 4 Prius.. it says PRIUS rather than PRIUS PRIME). Has anyone installed these? They’re not listed in Canada so the dealer won’t install it.

Is there a non-illuminated door sill option? Comes standard, or? Ah, see I've asked this before: Illuminated Door Sill install on Gen4 Prius | PriusChat
Yeah I think @Tideland Prius was saying it's mostly just painted metal, and the only Toyota option is illuminated sills. It'd be nice if Toyota offered some functional, non-illuminated, plastic thresholds, standard, or or at least cheap. Our 2010 came with the illuminated thresholds installed. Not sure of the back story, but they didn't cost anything extra, don't appear on the bill of sale. I don't "get" the illumination bit, but appreciate they offer some protection from scuffing.
On our 2010, the rears are not illuminated. Should be a lot less pricey, simpler install, and hey: just as functional.
Yes exactly. The Prius/Prime no longer comes with scuff plates (not even the basic black plastic ones) as @Prodigyplace has shown, so I would like to add some. @Mendel Leisk , the Touring and Technology packages added the illuminated door sills and rear bumper protector as part of the package.
