Copy-and-paste from a commercially available plan. My two offspring are competitive, so both bedrooms have to be exactly the same size... and they refuse to share a bathroom, too.

I live on a 1.67 acre lot out in the country and when I went to put my lawn building in I thought I would do it right and get a building permit. I knew they had limitations in town but I didn't know that there was a maximum square footage you were allowed to cover with outbuildings. Turns out you are allowed a maximum of two out buildings and are allowed to cover a maximum of 2% of your property with them if you owned less than two acres. I had to get a variance because I would be 220 sq ft over my allowance. I got my variance but it cost me about $500.
In January I bought the 3 acre lot next door.

And focus on ventilation for any indoor pool. Folks here have one and are having a devil of a time with mold.

Particularly if there's a piano in there too :eek::eek::eek: - they don't like excess humidity.

My son didn't want a closet at all, but wants a big bathtub for his 300 lb body. My daughter is petite and 5'-2". She doesn't like large bathtubs, but wants the largest closet we can give her. We rejected the request for a second bedroom for all of her stuff.

Just now realized that I've owned the Firebird part of the Firebrid for about 40 years now. These photos are just days after I bought it. Wow, time flew by!

Nobody is more impatient than me!

The architect is backlogged. I am told to expect a lot of questions next week. We'll see...

Finally got the initial "check" copies of the house plans.

So far it looks almost identical to my sketch. That's a good thing.

I designed our house and then an engineer took the drawings with room dimensions and made it something the builder could get approved and built. And only after living in the house for a few years do you realize the mistakes you made. Good luck. Get everything in writing. My builder went bust about 90% through the building process and it cost me the price of a Model S to get things right. (Overly optimistic land purchases and the 2008 housing bust got him not that he didn't turn out to be massively dishonest.)

This is generally what the front of the new house will look like. The colors and vegetation will vary, but otherwise this is pretty close.
The garages are around the right side.
