That’s great news! I wish they would’ve shown the cargo area and mentioned If Apple Car Play is available across all trims or not.

With a 70+ mile EV range, interesting. It might replace our BMW i3-REx. It would need a fast DC charger option and an optional 40A L2 charging rate.

With a 120+ mile EV range, it would replace our BMW i3-REx if it had a fast DC charger, +50 kW, and AC charging at 40A.

? ... at 32 seconds in to the video - she says ev range is 25 miles. But the 5th seat definitely puts the Prime back in the market for those who want that feature. With so many vehicles being canceled, I'm just glad it didn't face the chopping block.

Sure it will, a 4 seat family car is not a easy seller.

Since the attitude now is that sedans are not family cars, that makes no difference anymore.

Yeah, the only vehicles with just 4 seats are on the small side of subcompact or smaller, or are of the type the owner pays someone else to drive them around.

Not true. We see that with some luxury vehicles... hence the exploratory effort with this initial rollout, knowing "cars" are changing.

My post mentioned the luxury vehicles. Those that get a model with the executive rear bucket seat package likely have an employee driving the car with the owner or VIP in the back.

Five seats will make the Prime usable for taxi and ride sharing.

And that wasn't what I referred too. Some ordinary BMWs are that way, just a typical sedan.

Nope. In North America, they are 5 seats. Even a 4 Series Gran Coupe is a 5 seater.

I have a friend who has one, which clued me into the configuration. They must have changed at some point... experimenting just like Toyota did. Testing market demand is nothing new.
