I have had to remove the 6cd jbl changer on our 2004 (with navigation and tape no aus/cd2 buttons) again to reset it as the cd load light just kept flashing). now that i'm opening the dash again - i'd like to be able to add aux/ipod capability to the unit. (we currently use fm transmitter type) toyota jbl 6cd changer with tape deck - model - 86120-47100 an alternative solution would be for me to put in a later/different toyota cd player model from ebay - that will have abitlity to add aux to the rear connector. anybody know which units could be 'plugged in' in place of this one - would the single cd jbl unit work? photos of our unit- (we have 2004 w/ jbl 6cd changer + tape + navigation) and the connectors only connect to the far left and far right positions- the 6 over 6 is open on the stereo - but when i connected an aftermarket kit i wasn't able to 'find' it - i have no extra cd/aux/sat button? have read on another thread about a procedure about removing a couple wires and jumpering them with a resistor - but not sure about that. anybody solved this for this era prius? (our 2004 is going strong 50mpg + at 190k miles - original hybrid battery - few problems). Thanks for any thoughts.
I have this exact headunit and installed the same apps2car module that I had in my 07 Prius base headunit and it's getting power because my phone see it but I don't get any audio.
UPDATE! All i had to do was press the mode button on the steering wheel and it switched to the 2nd (emulated) CD changer and i was getting Bluetooth audio like im supposed to. Here is the module i have used on 2 different (2nd gen) Priuses
