    I was driving my 2007 Prius. I took a right turn a little faster then normal. The Main Warning light on, Brake light and VSC light came one. I did nothing the battery monitor show 2 bars in purple. Is that the hybrid battery or the 12v battery?

    The bars are the Hybrid Battery, the 12 volt gives almost no warning.

    Well, it is time to get your car analyzed by a good OBDII* reader to see what the car thinks is happening.
    Kentucky is a big state, so here are some random specialists.
    Your Hybrid Service Station In Lexington KY - DIGITAL AUTO LLC
    Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Repair - Auto Alternative Service & Sales
    Alan's Auto Care Georgetown, KY, 40324 Hybrid and Vehicle Repair
    Hybrid Battery Repair & Prius Battery Repair, Indianapolis

    * On Board Diagnostic II, a cheap reader will only read engine codes, and you have issues elsewhere. Go to a pro.

    I would google 'hybrid repair near me' to see who is close.

    I am not an expert, but while many readers of Prius Chat have replaced ECUs, I have not heard of any instance where they actually failed. It is usually a error OBDII could not diagnose, so it blames the ECU.

    I took my 2011 prius in because it kept turning off. The key fob was dying, so they gave me a new battery for my key and a 12v. However, my battery indicator keeps showing full and then 2 bars, what does that mean? Could they have just replaced the fob battery and not the 12v battery?? How can I tell? I'm looking at the new 12v and it doesnt look like they did anything to it, like they didnt change it. Are there dates on the batteries?

    Wildly swinging battery levels is a sign the HV battery is dying. Sorry.

    @Audreyj1980,

    The "battery indicator" you're looking at is the "state of charge" indication for the hybrid battery (the traction battery, the HV battery, the BIG battery, etc, whatever different people want to call it), not the 12v auxiliary battery. The new 12v battery you purchased merely powers up all the electronics, lights and sounds on the car.

    In simple terms, the car computer uses voltage readings from 14 positions inside the BIG battery to estimate how much energy remains in it. That estimate is displayed on the "bar graph" you're looking at. When you get rapid fluctuations between low bars and high bars, it can very well be an indicator that the battery has has one or more weak areas (out of the 14 being measured).
