Guys I have a 2013 Prius c and a long trip is coming ahead, I am planning on visiting my brother in Wisconsin from down south homestead Florida is like 3,000 miles round trip this is the road trip I always wanted to take, what recommendation or advice would you guys give me? my car is in great shape and has fairly new tires.
Young tires help. Safe and quiet. Clean your windows and mirrors. Really working them over until they are spotless can reduce eye fatigue on long drives. Keep enough trunk space free to bring back a couple cases of New Glarus beer.
Sounds like you're good to go. Just top off the windshield washer tank and check the oil. Replace the oil if you're close. Check tire pressures.
Sounds like fun! A small first aid kit to include a flashlight and maybe a flare just in case. Take some scenic pictures and share them if you can.
I would check the condition of the spare tire and make sure you know where the jack, tire wrench and lifting points are located. I would also visually inspect the brakes and check all fluid levels. I'd also carry a roadside flashlight with a red flasher option, and one of those mini jump start kits if you're still on the original 12v, and familiarize yourself with where the jump point is. Emergency water and a small tool kit wouldn't hurt either. Safe trip, and report back when you return. Cheers!
when we leave for our 4,000 mile r/t to florida every winter, because i follow the maintenance schedule, all i do is pump up the tires, check the spare, check the oil and other fluid levels, top up the ww fluid and go. sounds like you're good to go, have a great trip!
