I used the search function and found nothing...otherwise Has anyone purchased any sound deading matts? Which ones? Hush matts, dyna matts? Also which tools did you end up purchasing with it? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I used to have a Mini (van) when I lived in the UK ->1983, and I found the best way to deaden the sound was to use carpet under-lay glued to all the panels, roof, side, door, hood. It took a while to cut everything to shape, but I'm sure these days, tailored kits are available, so have at it, and good luck!
I’ve googled this and there definitely some videos discussing it on earlier gens. I would love to see a 4th gen update to sound deadening. I would love to do this to my 2017 Prius Three.
One of the threads on here about increasing the boot/trunk size by removing the foam inserts and spare wheel had some details on sound deadening. The bottom line was you line everything with dynamat or similar. In the UK, there's a product that is supposedly better you can find here:
I've recently just did up my doors and wheel wells. I took some pictures. Will post it up when I get the time For a DIY sound job, I'd say its ~15% quieter. There's less road noise from the tyre but my Yoko blue earths are still noisy as hell. It's nice to have heavier and more solid doors to. Because the car is more quiet overall, I'm hearing a lot of plastic rattling coming from the front dash Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
