Hello, Recently I've lost one of the covers. So i went to a dealer and found out that a new cover will cost me more then a hundered bucks to get a new one. That's pretty crazy... I want to get a new set of 4 covers... I've got a usual set of rims on my wheels and the oem covers come with a 1" lendth "tooth" that are inserted onto the rims(i don't know how to call them) . So, i wasn't able to find a compatible set of covers, every set i can buy, come with those "teeth" that are too long, aproximately 1.5", so they don't fit and can't be placed on the rims. Do you know where can i get a suitable set? I'm not from US, so i'l have to order the on internet.
Are there any in wrecking yards from a crashed car? Yes, original ones are expensive, no matter what the car.
Yeah, like one month after I took possession of my '17 Two Eco, I took those damned covers off. The actual wheel beneath is nice enough. Just take off the covers, sell them, and use the money to buy the center caps for cheaper.
Well, yeah, but i thought about some nise two-color covers, like black and silver. It's a much better to my eyes, the the naked rims Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I've notice a few locally with a couple of zip-ties per. Or take them all off and get centre caps? Maybe aftermarket are available now. They can be a mixed bag. I recen't got some aftermarket (3rd gen) centre caps, required a few mods but worked out ok. Under $20 (US) for set of 4, plus shipping.
Instead of taking the other 3 off - take off the other one on that side. Anyone looking at your car can only see one side at a time - one side with hubcaps, the other with the alloys. And keep the one you took off as a spare. I did that many years ago with steel-rims. As suggested, you can get a cap for the alloys.
Depends on your location I guess, but if you're in an area with a lot of rain, centre caps are good for keeping the hubs from rusting all to heck. Maybe better than the wheel covers?
I already have one FL all orangy actually.. In order to paint some of the rims 'spikes', to i have to remove the wheel? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
