    Hi all,

Just got a 2016 Prius, but found out that a piece of the weather strip is completely gone. I have covered it up with a piece of tape (circled).

Is it worth having the entire weather strip replaced?

That one came through. I don't see an issue with the tape job. I'd just monitor it when it get really wet out...

I wouldn't worry about it - they're fairly soft, and possibly been kicked getting in or out. Unless you drive on gravel or lots of wet roads. Just keep an eye on your patch as suggested by @krmcg that the hole doesn't get longer.

The problem with spending money on something like that - there's a chance that you could have it happen again. It used to be the same with hubcaps - the passenger side would get "kerbed" (no not me, the other drivers - that's my story, and I'm sticking to it) - just leave them on - and just before selling the car, buy 2 new ones.

Yeah - Looks like a nice tape job. You may have to replace it every now and then.
