Hello everyone, I bought a used 2007 Prius base model, with 84,000 miles, in September 2018. It lived in Texas until I brought it back to Chicago for it's first winter and -20 temps! Thank you to so many users on this site. With what I've learned here, I've changed the trans fluid and flushed the (1 gallon!) of brake fluid, which has made the brake actuator chirping go away. Next up is finding a used Prolong Deluxe Reconditioning Kit to use on the original hybrid battery, which seems in decent shape after checking with Torque Pro. Dan
Congrats on the purchase. Glad to hear you are using Torque Pro. That is a necessity for all owners of older Prius.
Thank you, Eric. There's a lot to learn for a newbie. I'm only scratching the surface with this forum and Torque Pro. I've also read good things about Techstream and see that it is affordable, but I'm overwhelmed as it is.
Yes. You will certainly want Techstream. Better to get it sooner rather than later so that you'll be ready when the time comes to use it.
