I never paid less than $2.25 for gas in western Washington state & it is over 10% higher now. Can you still get gas for $1.99 a gallon, now?

Presumably VW wouldn't need to fudge the emissions test results on this model.

Today going to checkout the Leaf Plus. There are 7 EV cars under $40,000. Can anyone name the cars and manufacturers? Not including Toyota Fuel Cell Car. But you can only buy in California at this time.

I came very close to pulling the trigger on a base Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus but I could not justify buying this more expensive car when the cost increased for my 125 mile roundtrip. I calculated ~$5.80/RT for my Prime and ~$6.50/RT for the Model 3. My Model 3 numbers were generated with input from 2 co-workers who just bought Model 3's.

yep, and a corolla would probably be cheaper than both if you include the cost.

You have to consider that the wholesale price of gasoline is presently in the $1.80 range, or a few cents more. Washington has one of the highest gas taxes in the country, more than $.50 per gallon. The distributor and dealer need to make a little. So of course regular gas is in the $2.50 range or higher. Does anyone remember 20 or 30 years ago what the pundits were predicting the price of gas would be by now due to the world running out of petroleum reserves? Now they are predicting that all the waterfront houses will be under water in the next 20 to 30 years.
