I bought the one on shop.priuschat.com and feel it’s pretty decent. Prius Prime Rear Bumper Protector - PriusChat Shop
I'm cheap, errr... frugal. I'll try the $14 ones. Also, I have a strong sense of self preservation and I'm pretty sure I know what would happen if I got the expensive ones when I'm already looking at buying a donut spare before we hit the road in May.
Received my bumper protector from Amazon recently (link in my OP). Couldn't decide whether to affix to upper or lower level. jchoi808 affixed to lower level. Further the product was about 1/4-1/2 inch too deep and didn't want to trim it. So, instead of permanently affixing the bumper protector with the double sided tape, I just stored it in the charging cable slot and will pull it out when needed. See attached pics of upper and lower level.
What's the thinking behind the protection level of this type of bumper protector in its upper location ? Meaning I'd think if we were trying to protect the bumper, we'd buy something that was mounted Vertically on the backside of the bumper to protect the bumper from other cars tapping/hitting it when they park. For me it's protection from loading items in the back. I bought my Prime used and noticed several scratches on the paint from the previous owner when they loaded items.
I live 20 miles south of the border, have it shipped to my house and I'll meet you there Or, find one of the Canadians that have PO boxes in Alburgh or North Hero, VT and ask them to order it for you
Thank you for that link! Been looking for one of these for a while. I am not sure how, but that part of my bumper has received quite a few gouges and it was driving me crazy. It was simple to install and works well.
