I was thinking about naming my new Prius (arrives tomorrow!!!! Yeah!!!) something in Latin. I have narrowed it down to the following two, but am having trouble deciding. Anyone want to offer an opinion or an alternate idea? Parcus sparing, thrifty, economical, moderate Silentium silence, faultlessness, stillness, perfection, quiet, repose
ok, i had to pick parcus. dont know why, but of the two, i just like that name best. Let us know what you decide..........
I don't see an option for "None of the above" (or to put it nicer... "A name not on this list"). Neither grabs me.
My Prius has a Latin name too...full name is Prius Maximus Decimus Meridius. But I just call him Max.

Maybe I'll work on a phrase that I can abreviate into an acronym or just meld two words together. Thanks for the idea!
Parcus makes me think of parkas... Actually Rancid13, your "Prius Maximus" made me start thinking of Latin names, too, ... which reminded me of incantations in Harry Potter (HUGE FAN), ... which started me thinking about using something from the HP world, ... which I mentioned to a friend ... who recommended Fawkes. Dumbledore's Phoenix. "Hmm, phonenix regenerate (regen!) from their own fire (hot = Cool Chicks in Black Prii club!). In HP, they can carry heavy loads (!) while they fly (glide!), are unique and beautiful (!!!)." It's perfect! And their tears have healing powers, like the low emissions are a way to help heal the earth. hehe ok that's stretching it, but I had to complete the analogy.
Well, my new Prius is finally here. I picked it up yesterday afternoon. Thanks to those of you who replied to this post, and to all who have posted helpful Prius info on this site. I departed from the names I was trying on above and am going with PROPs (PRius OPtimus). I am thrilled with my new Prius. I don't want to say new car because it is so much more than just another car. I think many here would agree. I took it out for a ride yesterday, combination city and highway, and averaged 53MPG. I played around a bit with P&G, but mostly just drove it. I was especially surprised at how high the mileage was even when the ICE was running. Wow, that's an efficient ICE!! I plan to post a picture later today, if I have time. Also, PROPs is here just in time! I have jury duty tomorrow and have to drive into downtown Houston (ab/ 25 miles) in rush hour traffic. I am so glad I don't have to take my old gas guzzling SUV!
