    Hi all
I have Niche 17" wheel with 8 " wide. Currently have Michelin 215x45x17: too low profile and too much noise.
I want to put 225 or 235x55x17. Would it be possible ?
Any advises on tire size for 2013 Prius Plug in IMG_2465.jpeg IMG_2463.jpeg

I believe the largest size you can put in there is a 225x50x17

If harsh ride is your main concern, go back to the stock 15" size?

Thank you, Ride quality ? I am thinking about 215x55x17. But I wlll wait cause the Michelin tires still look new. Just I don't like the ideal of the rims IMG_2494.jpg is show out more then the tires. Just like them "youngter" this day.
Beautifull color. My wife love this color.

The ride quality on 205-55/17s is a bit more harsh over bumps than the standard 195-65/15s. Plus, the tires I have are rated XL (extra load), which has a stiffer sidewall than an SL (standard load) rated tire.

Since you don't like the look of the rims extending further out than the tire, then you should probably go for a tire that's wider than what you have now, such as a 225 tire. As far as the profile, 45 is prob where you want to be so that it doesn't look like you have too tall of a tire. There are web-based tire size calculators that will permit you to compare the circumferential size of tires of different sizes. A 205-50/17 is comparable in circumference to each of the stock sizes 195-65/15 and 215-45/17.

    Thank you very much.
    Very well details information.
My problems is NO tires shop around San Jose area willing to try out the tires fit first.
