I was playing around with the Dr. Prius app and was wondering if it was worth to purchase the battery health assessment. I attached a photo of what my modules were reading with the free section of the app. Not sure if it tells me anything? Would love to know the status of my battery and not leave it to a mystery on how long it will last. I’ve thought about Pro-long equipment, but I mine as well put that money towards a brand new battery.
The free version provides everything except two types of tests. And the test results will vary to provide different diagnosis every time, such as declaring #2 block as weak once and #5 block as weak another time. Buying doesn't give you anything special, except to pay for the free version features Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I'm assuing your talking about the green and blue bars, because I think the numbers above that are self-explanatory. What you are seeing are the voltage and internal resistance of each individual cell. If you have large differences between them (notably one cell that has a much lower voltage), that is an indication it is going bad. So for instance, your cell 7 is the lowest of them all, that might be an indication of an aging battery pack. I read somewhere that the middle cells usually fail first. As to how long it will last: that can not be determined from this. It's like a health checkup. Your doctor will also not be able to tell when you're going to die, just if your healthy or not. But this seems fine. There have been images posted here where the middle cell has 13.67V and the outer go up to 15V.
