Is it possible to monitor individual block SoC. Min SoC, Max SoC and Delta SoC is not sufficient to find weak block/cells. voltage levels and IR levels can only provide preliminary diagnosis in repairing an old battery pack. Maybe custom PIDs can be created in apps like Torque pro or similar, to find SoC of each block. I want to give one last try to repair, prior to battery replacement. There is an app, dr. Prius, for Android and possibily Apple, that will show you individual cell voltage. Cell voltage basically is the same as SOC, it's just a different number.
Hi Maarten28, I have the app, however I noticed that even if the voltages are not much different, the car throws P0A080 DTC. Here comes the delta SoC, which means difference between SoC of best and weakest block. Please see the attached picture from Dr. Prius app taken a while ago. My voltages are not so bad (difference 0.17), however the delta SoC is bad. Even though SoC has reached 100%, however delta is 52%. Any suggestions Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
SOC of 100% is very very strange. Do other apps report the same? Normally the Prius won't allow more than 80%.
There is likely more to this story that this app is not showing you. I'd try Toyota Techstream to see the data to be sure. 100% SOC is not a real thing.
I guess due to delta of the charge containing capability for each block, overall SoC is like this. I have tried another app , torque, and it's the same result. I guess due to poor block 2 and 10, the battery pack isn't behaving normal. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
