Purely window-shopping, but if I was interested: I'd like a spare tire, 3 door touch unlock and I don't like sunroof.

    SOL I guess...

Pricing out the XLE AWD-e just can't decide on color.

At the risk of being labeled a "nit-picker," I did discover one actual good use for the fogs on my Gen-2 (a 2004 with "Package 9" -- all the stuff, including the fogs). The car also had the HID headlights, which I generally loved, until one went out, and I found out how brutally expensive they are to fix.

As I shopped around to find the most cost-effective solution, I used my "fog lights" so there was a "backup headlight" on what would have been the "dark side." Of course, the fogs perform pathetically as headlights, except to mark the corner of the car. My car was black, so its outline was prone to fade into the background at night. I liked having working lights showing on both sides of the car so nobody could possibly mistake it for a motorcycle, as can happen with dark cars having only one headlight lit. OK, this may be a stretch as to actual utility, but I'd say "almost completely useless." :)

I thought the XLE AWD-e was going to get a power driver seat I guess not, but the regular XLE does. Also must be the battery 3 less cubic feet of cargo room. Pretty easy to config only one package.

I did that several times on three prior cars too, especially the one I kept for 23 years. Even though the failed main lights were fixed within a couple days, this was a significant safety feature during night and winter trips. Though to be a bit more fair, two of them had very good aftermarket foglights that actually had good patterns. (And were needed to fill in the horrid pattern of the old single rectangular sealed beam headlamp, the worst of the four legal styles of that era.) Only the third had the otherwise useless factory decorative version.

I also liked having the four-lamp brake/taillights, allowing time to discover and fix a failed lamp before a side went dark.

There are polished alloys available now, not just the alloys w/ wheel covers. They're the same ones on the European Prime/PHV but without the grey-coloured insert.

On the flipside, all but the base model have adaptive LED headlights (the "premium" LED headlights... honestly, why can't they just describe it.. premium LED tells me nothing)

I wanted the 2019 Prius' alloys but I assume ordering them from the parts department would be quite expensive. I settled with steelies for the winter tyres. Oh well.

Yeah I didn't state that well. Finally the 2019 has alloys that are not meant to come standard with plastic wheel covers. I don't really care for the under-alloys on the Gen3 or Gen4, though I took the trim rings off of the Gen2 almost immediately.

I'm not sure. The 2019 Prius is showing on Toyota Canada website; there's no description I can find so far, but the gallery pics look like wheel covers (I think):

And this is from the North American 2019 Owner's Manual, downloaded from Toyota Tech Info:

The "wheel ornamant" in the Owner's Manual illustration looks depressingly similar to the gallery pic. Same old, same old?

    Again, proper alloys are offered.

Most in the US have "wheel covers" :( It is an option package on the XLE & Limited only. Not any e-4WD models.

Same. It appears to be only on our FWD Technology grade. All AWD models have the new wheel covers. (as well as the base FWD with a different new cover)

Any link? I can't find anything on the Toyota Canada site:

    upload_2019-2-14_7-59-58.png

or the brochure pdf. No mention of wheel covers; at least the US site is a bit more forthright in that regard.

    Just idle curiousity btw.

The US Spec has a package on at least FWD XLE and Limited that includes cover-less 15s and a sunroof. I've seen photos from a few at dealers on CarGurus in the states with that package and the wheels actually aren't bad (IMO). I didn't even catch that you were in Canada and that the packages may be different.

    upload_2019-2-14_11-45-43.png

As suggested earlier, I'm guessing this is all in the weight shell-game in at least the US.

17s + sunroof are too heavy.
    e-AWD + cover-less alloys are too heavy.
e-AWD + sunroof is too heavy.

    sigh...

Didn't realized that XLE AWD-e was wheel covers. Not bad.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but it also looks like the steering wheel got rid of the white inserts and the buttons for the heated seats have moved up to the center area.

It also looks like the XLE has the smaller display on the center console while the limited has the larger one that was on the 2018 higher trims.
