This is a 2005 with 278k on the clock, new plugs in the last 500miles (NGKs) my wife started her commute to work the other day had to limp home at low speed. Pulled the codes (Torque Pro OBD!!) PS302 was the only error code, switched coil packs between cyl 2 and 3 no change same error code. I have never done the EGR maintenance, wonder if that might be useful. Here are the test outputs:

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this:)

Maybe the plugs are not torqued down? You can try putting the old plugs back in and see if things change

I torqued the new plugs and ran several hundred miles after they were installed, so I am confident it is not the issue. Thanks for your reply

If you get this error after you change your plugs, that is where I would investigate first. By taking out that plug that's misfiring

removed plugs 2 and 3 (the misfiring one is the lean one on the right, the left one is rich I suspect because I previously had switched coil packs to isolate the problem and only ran the ICE for a minute. i am thinking maybe a bad injector? prius plugs.jpg

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

If the COPS are good (no visual carbon tracking), and given the DTC and the swap you've reported (P0302), my 'WAG' is you need to service/replace the injectors with used ($25 for four), or new ($$$), or send off your current set to be tested and cleaned ($60+).

I picked up a rebuilt (used) set on ebay for $23 including shipping, they were mismatched and one of the intake o-ring retaining caps appeared to be slightly cocked/angled. But after talking to someone on the phone, I have no doubt they would've replaced one or more if it was required. The seller was a yard in the Los Angeles valley, the injectors appeared to be clean/rebuilt with new rubbers/seals etc. They worked after installation, though I also checked the resistance before install.

Here is a link to 'AtlantaAuto' / ebay store:

Atlanta Auto Dismantling - Auto Parts & Supplies - 7259 Fulton Ave, Valley Glen, North Hollywood, CA - Phone Number - Yelp
    Atlanta Auto | eBay Stores

There are also New 'non-denso' (chinese) offerings for similar pricing, which may work given the light duty application. But from what I've read elsewhere some of the higher CC versions can fail to deliver fuel at greater duty cycles, which causes a lean burn and damages the engine at best. Would be interesting to see how a new set of (4) four injectors for under $30 performs.

Here are a some places I've previously bookmarked for reconditioning, some do charge for return shipping though :

http://fuelinjectorspecialists.com (website is down, this is who I considered using as they include pics with their report)

Fuel Injector Specialists LLC in Wheat Ridge, CO - (303) 456-0789 - Chuck is/was the owner.

You can read some of the old website here : fuelinjectorspecialists.com - Fuel Injector Specialists - Home - Wheat Ridge, CO
