Generally we heve found warranty terms on reconditioned batteries are not indicative of lasting quality. Perhaps your experience will be different.

You can get a kit of new cells from @2k1Toaster here for $1600 delivered which basically gives you a new battery after installation. Perhaps you could then sell your old modules to Green Bean :D. The website for the kit is in my signature.

I admit, I will be suitably impressed if they maintain a 5% warranty claim rate over the course of the 5 year warranty. I may be wrong, but didn't GB start ~December 2016? If so, the earliest batteries have been out there almost 2 years. Only 3+ years to go.

They have been in business a shorter time than other battery folks so it is hard to determine long term reliability.

Especially when buyers of these pack never report back on their experience. We initially hear their enthusiasm about how much less expensive it was, and the great initial service. But then silence. So we don't know if it last 3 months, 6 months, etc.

See my comments above about starting your own thread and reporting in. It would really help the community and would not be much effort on your part.

Not to mention those that may have been frustrated and obtained a pack elsewhere.
IIRC, @TMR-JWAP evaluated a failed "reconditioned" pack that was obviously not built with care (mixed generation modules, bad hardware) and suffered premature failure. I doubt that user reported back to the bad vendor if that service.

EDIT: Here is the informative thread.

    Here's my report:

I bought a greenbean battery in Jul 2017 for my 2006 Prius. The reconditioned battery died on me 1 year later (July 2018). Was still under the 18-month warranty, so they reconditioned again free. Another 6 months later (Jan 2019) battery died again (5 days before warranty expired). Getting rid of my prius because I'm not going to pay $4-5k for a new battery and a $1,500 reconditioned battery is a band-aid that will fall off in 6-12 month. Need something more dependable.

I still recondition batteries for $500 or less. But the modules are from gen2 cars.

Not sure why this service would be worth more than $500

have you called around to ask the dealer what a new battery costs? I think they are getting to around the $2000 mark.

You can buy a new battery for $1600.

Thakk you so much for sharing this story.
Too often folks are buying packs and not reporting back on the long-term life of the packs.

To follow-up with a status, after almost 3 years on the Green Bean battery replacement, our 2005 Prius is still running strong, with another 27k miles on it, now over 200k.

That's great news that it's still working and clearly great service.

    Thanks for reporting back.
