Hello to everyone, i'm looking for this item to apply in my trunk. it's kind a worn out already....what's the name of it? or OEM Number to look for my Prius V.
#6 here: Gate & Hardware for 2012 Toyota Prius V | McGeorge Toyota Parts Geesh, $86 is not cheap. McGeorge looks to be about the best price too.
I would call around to junkyards or set up a search on ebay looking for a used seal. But first I would ensure the old one was properly seated along both of the parallel seals.
I'd bite the bullet and buy the new weather-stripping. The original rubber is seven years old. My 2012 Michelin OEM tires deteriorated las fall. I would not ever buy a used rubber part like a hose, drive belt or anything else from a wrecking yard.
86 $ for a weather strip :/ that's too expensive. If i buy, i have to buy a new one...or at least from -2017 car at junkyard.
It's expensive, because someone has to keep all this stuff in stock, and it's an insane amount of parts, and keep it organized, and pay rent, pay staff, and on-and-on. But yeah, I know...
Very few 2017 Prius v's were imported and sold in the US due to decreasing demand and fewer were totaled and end up in wrecking yards. Waiting and trying for them to save less that $86 appears to me as an exercise in futility, while water leaks into the back of your car causing damage.
I have a 2013 Prius v, and that weather strip came loose today. It seemed to stretch a little. Got it taped in place till I decide to buy a new one or not. What kind of glue would you use on that seal??? pete
