I have a 2010 Prius with about 120,000. I bought it at 117,000 and never felt it jump until recently. I do live in a colder climate (Ohio) but I do garage the vehicle. When the ICE kicks on the vehicle Jumps so much it ROCKS. I have remote start installed on it and I can actually watch the wheels move when I am outside of it and it starts. I cleaned the EGR tube, but not the manifold or cooler yet it is on my list. Plugs were supposedly changed at 100K. All fluids flushed and changed when I bought it. Even when it has been running for awhile and I am at a light when it goes EV and back to ICE, BAM I feel her kick in like I am on a bucking bronco. I never fet this when I bought her few months ago, although temps were not freezing. Anything I can focus in on? I searched a little bit about the topic but still not sure.
It’s related to air or fuel. The egr circuit cleanse takes care of the air side of that equation . Good luck and keep us posted .
For no reason I thought this was an airborne Prius. Imagined bo and Luke from the dukes of hazzard (80s tv series) going airborne with a Prius jumping over a small river.
It was not double checked by me. I had all the fluids flushed at the dealer. I will probably replace the plugs anyways when I do everything else along with a new PCV valve.
It's not unusual for a Prius to rock forward when the engine starts but it shouldn't do it every time. How violent are you talking?
Remember that one fella who posted thread subject "Crazy banging," thought that was a new hipster vernacular
