In beautiful North Texas (Dallas) we have had 30 days of 100º+ temperatures so far this summer. I would be apprehensive about the "stick-on" turning loose and peeling off. What a mess that would be.
you may also be able to order pieces individually through your dealer's parts department- that way you don't have to buy a whole kit, just the parts you want. at least, we can down here.
I dont think its fair to judge other peoples taste. As long as you like it, enjoy ! It might impact re-sale value though.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(galaxee @ Aug 14 2006, 04:40 PM) </div> That would be good, if they made it for the ledge of the door by the window. Maybe not the wood trim, but the carbon fiber look. That should stand up better if you're in the habit of driving with the window down and your elbow resting on the ledge.
Although I think it looks nice, it won't be anything I'll add to my Prius when she arrives. However, the carbon fiber set might be cool (read: high-tech) if not overdone... B)
I think the wood trim kits can look nice and are probably better on a tan interior than grey. However, they seem to come only in high gloss. Given that there are times when I wish the parts they are covering didn't reflect so much, I'm not likely to add them. Now if they come out with a satin, I might think about it. Thanks for posting the pics.
Not my thing either, but I'm glad it works for you. Taste is very personal. Too bad they don't have wooden floor mats. A friend in college had wooden bumpers on his car. It looked great.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ched1968 @ Jun 9 2006, 10:11 AM) </div> is there some kind of promotor or glue activator to set this trim when you apply the trim does it damage the plastic.that your covering? what are your steps for applying the wood trim there are so many companies out there your head spins once you start looking I think your car looks great and if someone doesn't care for it so be it . they don't have to drive with ya thanks B)
I agree with RichBoy. Everyone has opinions... Opinions are like armpits, some of them stink!!! Why is it somebody always has to offer up THEIR unwanted opinions?!? If you don't like it, don't buy it. -Paul R. Haller-
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ched1968 @ Jun 8 2006, 03:32 AM) </div> how does this trim stick on the larger part like dash and glove conpartment ??? those surfaces are not level I'm waiting on a burl wood trim kit and I would love to cover the dash and compartment but I'm a little afraid of it not sticking on those surfaces .Any advise would be great .Love the pics thanks
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jan @ Sep 6 2006, 10:35 PM) </div> I called the company and they told me just peel and stick it to the surface and do not apply the glue promoter because that will ruin the surface just clean the surface with alcohol and let it dry before you install them...I really love mine, so far no problems with the adhesives except for the ones that I had a mistake installing and I need to pull them off but they stick back in again very well. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jan @ Sep 7 2006, 03:05 PM) </div> I have the 05 model which comes with the smooth surface on the big panels on the dash that is why I did not have any trouble installing them.... If you want you can try them on when your order arrives but I advise you not to apply the glue promoter because that will ruin the plastic dash, just peel the adhesives and install the panels, if you dont like it it will be easy to peel off and your dash will still look good..thanks for the comment.
