Has anyone received their magic purple HOV sticker yet?

Purple? My replacements were red.

 

As I understand it, replacement decals for the expired green decals are red, and expire 1-1-2022. But if you apply for first-time decals now, you will get purple ones, which are good until 1-1-2023.

 

Ohhh! I didn’t know that. Haven’t seen purple yet. Plenty of red.

I bought my car on december 12th and mailed mine in after the first for the very same reason.

Update to my post yesterday. My check got cashed by the DMV! Should have the stickers soon.

Hopefully, what happened to people who renewed their California driver's licenses late last year won't happen for the clean air decals. Due to complaints about delays, the DMV configured their online renewal system to allow renewals before the usual 90 days before expiration. It took people's payments, and happily provided a receipt. But people never got their licenses. When they took their receipt to a DMV office, no record of the renewal was found in the system, and those people were accused of using forged receipts. So people just paid again. Finally, the DMV discovered that while their front end Web system had been modified to accept the early renewals, the back end processing system hadn't, and it was simply silently discarding the "invalid" early renewals being passed to it from the front end. Thus, no record of the renewal. Now the DMV has instructed their staff to accept the receipts without an additional payment, refund double payments, and passed along a memo to state law enforcement agencies to take it easy on citing drivers for recently expired licenses.

This is not a joke. I read about it in the Sacramento Bee newspaper and heard it on local TV news.

 

Mailed mine Jan 4. Still nothing. Was told they are processing those received on Jan 7th for sometimes

 

how do you find out what date they are are working on ?

I mailed mine on the 2nd, so they should of gotten it on the 4th or 6th, as of 2/19 they still had not cashed my check.

 

I mailed the application in on the 1/1. I got my Magic stickers last weekend, call it too weeks before processing the check, another week to receive the stickers. I'm sure that a lot of people did the same to try and get the purple stickers.
