that would be cheating! yeah, she wasn't to happy when i walked home after running out of gas, and was late for dinner.
Out of gas ? Trying for a tank record ? I do those without the wife to avoid the wrath . I don’t bother anymore and just fill up at 2 PIPs.
the last pip flashing and beep happened on the way to work one day. told myself to get gas at the next opportunity. then, senioritus happened, and i don't mean high school or college.
When we lived in Wichita I had planned the route out that when we got to the Costco in Overland Park (the closest Costco at the time) I’d be at 0 on the miles to empty. When the guessometer got zero 5 miles from the exit on I-35, I was told sternly to exit and fill up. Only took 10 gallons but it was moot by then. Still have domestic bliss to this day to hang my hat on.
oh ya, i don't try anything wacky on the florida trip. fortunately, we can do a 500+ mile day in the hycam, and still have plenty left in the tank when we refill at the hotel areas.
The hycam and Avalon Hybrid look fantastic. I can only imagine how smooth they are on a trip. But I’ve built shelving in our garage that would prohibit parking a larger car inside. Bet those FLA trips are a nice cruise.
i'm ready to trade up to the avalon, but it wouldn't be worth it for one trip a year. you're right, the new ones are well done.
Was at the Lexus dealer a couple of weeks back and they had an LS500h there. Now that is one well done ride. But at ~$100k, it better be.
Post #42 - that was with a flashlight behind. I think I could see 5 of the 6 cells OK - it was much clearer in real life than in the YouTube.
Get a flashlight and look from the other side - it's see-through. At least on 2016 models in Australia.
I've posted this before: But I asked him a question yesterday about whether PRIUS Gen 4 should have an AGM or Wet/flooded 12v battery - basically he said ... how about you read it yourself - it's probably still the first comment to a question I asked in comments below the YouTube. My YouTube "name" is alanclarkeau - the same as PriusChat.
at least two threads and 164 posts suggest otherwise and that doesn't include prime 12v threads, which has the same 'normal' battery in the same location
for instance, i can plug a 2017 camry 12v into sears auto centers and come up with a $90. battery in stock.
Alas, on my 2018, the battery case is very definitely Darth Vader black. Alas, with the limited exposure adjustments on my phone's camera, you can hardly see the sides, but they're the same as the top. I guess I'll have to check the levels the old, dirty way...
