    Thanks smrtguy,

Just started shopping this week after I noticed the $5000 manufacturer rebate here in NJ And than you factor in the tax credit for 4500, it seems like a great deal. Def intrested in the primes EV capabilities, the cargo space is less of a concern. Thanks for your help

Prime Plus with carpet mats. Got this at the end of December from a dealer in NE. We were eligible for $1250 recent college graduate rebate in addition to the $3,500 Toyota bonus cash. Dealer delivered it to my driveway from over 150 miles away.

I was under the impression that the grad rebate is only for cars financed/leased directly by Toyota Financial, which is why I haven't mentioned it to the dealers I've been in contact with.

This is correct. We financed through Toyota. We will probably refinance through our Credit Union to lower the rate by 1.5 or 2%.

Hi all, I'm from Texas but work near Morristown NJ one week a month. I'm interested in buying the Prime Plus or Advanced. Any tips on which dealers to call? I'm willing to drive to nearby states but it seems NJ has the highest rebate for the next couple of weeks so I thought I'd try there. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi BRT,

How are you liking it so far, The plus models have been hard to come buy in my area, at this point I see mostly advances listed by dealerships around me.

Hadn't thought about that approach.. considering I value credit pulls at about $500, that might just be worthwhile to get the price down to what I wanted (~$7800 under MSRP) and refinance afterwards. From one of the dealer websites, it lists a dealer's non-special TFS rate @ 4.79% APR, so the interest charges over a few months over going w/ CU first (~%3.69 APR) are negligible after I account for the approx trade-in value in the total amount financed after the $1k discount (difference of ~$13/month in interest from both rates).

TFS documentation says no pre-payment penalty. Now would just have to figure out which dealer will give the best trade deal for my '17 Premium...

@Mike1982 can you please let me know where you purchased your Prime Premium? I’m in the market (in NJ like you) for either a Premium or a Plus, and am in the price discovery phase. @brt where did you get your Prime Plus at that price?

The car drives and handles well comparing to our Honda CR-V. I did not charge the car yet but used the Charging mode to juice up the battery and try the pure EV mode. It was my second time driving an EV after a short test drive in a BMW i3. Driving in EV is an "supernatural" feeling of instant acceleration and no ICE noise. The EV engine makes you feel more powerful than it is.

We did not want the "leather" seats or the 11" screen and the price break from Premium was nice too. The dealer who gave us this price was sold out did "buy" it from another dealer after we told them we wanted a Plus.

Yes, the monthly difference in interest is very small. I hope you can get a high trade in fro your '17. Let us know!

I did not investigate and don't know if it's regional but I saw a $500 Recent College Graduate rebate on a quote from a dealer in NY and $1,250 in MA.

Also, Texas has a $2,500 rebate for Prime. Is there a way I can buy for example from MA and register in TX and get both state’s incentives?

I would say you'd have to have residency and register the car in both states and pay in enough taxes in those states. My guess is no.

No, you have to buy a Prime in the state of TX to get the TX rebate. Also, be careful buying from MA, they have weird temporary tag law. I think you have to get the temp tag from your state first.

I am just 20 times that distance away. If someone delivered a Prime to me with the $3500 dealer discount as above, plus a high Toyota manufacturer cash incentive, I would be ready to buy that Prime today!
