My struts are shot. Which suspension will give me the most comfortable ride in rough city street?

I'm driving in a 2013 Prius 3 around a 1000 miles a week mainly in NYC for Uber. At this point it feels like I'm driving a boat. I've seen the Koni and the KYB brand of strut replacements but not sure what is better in my situation. I really need something that will soak up the potholes as much as possible. If anyone can lead me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

I just replaced my shocks a month ago with the KYB Excel-Gs. Ride quality and comfort is back to normal. Depending on your mileage, I'd recommend replacing the strut mounts, which is what I did, since my originals were at 200K and I didn't want to replace them again.

I rplaced everything, struts, springs, upper mounts and lower seats and all new fasteners. My prius sat for 2 years so i make a habit of replacing fasteners as i go as many are corroded.

I think I need to do the same here. Driving rideshare in Seattle.

Is this a diy with a pair of jack stands and a scissor jack? How do you jack up the axel properly so it doesn't fall?

How do you tell / know if your shocks are shot?

Do you need an alignment if you do just the back since it isn't aligned...?

I used the KYB Strut-Plus assembly and am happy with the results.

This is a pretty cool slo-mo conversation. (y)
