It's available for $2.79 several places here in Austin (though most are more). I saw a station in a small town in the Hill Country yesterday that was selling it for $2.69 - and they actually had fuel!

Wow, I'd love to only have to pay $2.78 for gas. There are a few stations with gas under $3 around here, but not many.

$2.68 in Bristol, TN/VA today. That's with a NASCAR race in town this coming Saturday.

$3.08 here yesterday, a bit higher across the border in Washington due to taxes. For some reason it doesn't bother me a bit. I wouldn't mind seeing another dollar or two per gallon. I think then we would see some meaningful conservation.

The cheapest I've seen in Southern CT is around $3.10 these days. I was just in southeastern MA, though, and it was $2.90.

That's pretty accurate. Here on the north suburbs of Chicago it's about $3.10-3.20, altho the station I pass everyday still has it at 3.25.

It was $3.10 at Costco in Hawaii yesterday. It hovers around #3.09, $3.10, #3.11 not much change. I usually drive to Costco for gas. Seems to be the cheapest on the island although Lex Brodie's sometimes has $2.99 Fridays but then the gas line goes around the block wrecking havoc on the traffic in that area.
    Lucky we drive a Prius!

We're right on the cusp of $3.00 here in CO. Depending on where you are the price seems to be between about $2.90 and $3.00 for regular (85 octane in our case).

Wow, that map makes me wonder what it would look like to check correlation between gas prices and voting trends, like the infamous red-blue-purple state maps. Looks like a lot of the south has it pretty good by comparison.

Looks more like it's just easiest to get gas near the center of the nation's distribution infrastructure, but there *may* be some correlation ;)

$3.05 past Friday in Cypress, CA (Chevron) and probably $3.03 at the lowest one I know of.

    That's far from average.

Here in my small California Central Coast town, regular gas is $3.63 a gallon. Twenty miles south in a larger town, it's about $3.35.

Jennifer, with Arco adding 45c to each tankful, it's hard to justify buying there. Since we're usually putting in under ten gallons at a time, Arco's price would have to be more than 5c cheaper than the competition.

In my case, I often put in 3-6 gallons, which makes Arco out of the question.

Gas is $2.6X here in middle GA for the last 4-5 days. I knew buying my Prius would run prices down...but, hey, it was a relatively small price to pay!
