What is a good size rim to put on a 2006? Will a Scion rim fit with no problems or MPG loss? Thanks for any help. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Not many rims have as low weight as the oem 15" or 16" wheels. So, many will fit, few will not cause MPG loss... Most wheels are worth the loss of mpg as the oem wheels are quite ugly...
The older Gen Scion Tc rim have the correct bolt pattern, the newer Scion rims went to a different bolt pattern. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
imho, 17x7" wheels would be the best compromise. if you go beyond that- or use a tire wider than 215- you likely will need to modify the wheel openings. I would look for at least 45mm back spacing too.
Here’s a bunch of lightweight 16’s and 17’s. There’s some 15’s and 18’s in there as well Wheels for 2008 Toyota Prius Touring Edit: link doesn’t apply my weight filters :/

Thanks How did you come by this data? Do you know the weight on Gen 4 OEM 15 inch? What benefit have you achieved with that ceramic header on your mod Gen2? Thanks in advance Just did It
The info has been posted in threads b4, I just searched and reposted. Gen4 wheel specs I haven't seen yet. When I still had my Gen2, the header greatly improved exhaust flow in the higher rpm band - Improved battery regen time and felt easier to pass on highway when electric was worthless. From stoplight to stoplight, the electric motors helped with any torque loss due to a higher flowing exhaust.
